Central Storage & Warehouse Opens New −70°F Ultra-Cold Expansion in Pleasant Prairie
Central Storage & Warehouse (CSW), a Midwest cold storage developer and operator, has opened its newest ultra-cold expansion at its Pleasant Prairie facility in Kenosha, adding specialized storage space maintained at −70°F. This project marks the second expansion of CSW's ultra-cold capacity, following the original construction in 2016 and an expansion in 2020.
CSW collaborated with Consolidated Construction Company (CCC) and Summit Refrigeration to design and build the new storage space, which requires specialized engineering to maintain temperatures significantly colder than a conventional freezer. The expansion aims to enhance capabilities in serving temperature-sensitive ingredients essential to the food manufacturing supply chain.
Hill Hamrick, Co-CEO of Central Storage & Warehouse, emphasized the importance of the company’s team in achieving this expansion, stating, "The expansion would not have been possible without our frontline team members and leaders living our people-first, team-based, and service-oriented values every day."
The Pleasant Prairie expansion aligns with CSW's strategy to grow alongside its customers by investing in new capacity and capabilities. The grand opening on June 2, 2026, marks a significant milestone in CSW's ongoing partnerships with its long-term clients.
Founded in 1947, Central Storage & Warehouse (CSW) provides temperature-controlled warehouse services with five facilities and is actively expanding its operations.
