Volta Labs Brings the Complete Twist Hybrid Capture Portfolio to Callisto™ with Launch of Twist Fast Hyb
The Twist Fast Hyb App has been launched by Volta Labs for Twist Bioscience's Fast Hybridization Kit on the Callisto™ Sample Prep System. With this introduction, both the Fast Hybridization and Standard Hybridization v2 workflows from Twist are now available as automated applications on Callisto, providing laboratories with an efficient and consistent workflow for target enrichment.
The Fast Hyb App automates the hybridization-based target enrichment process, which is traditionally complex and labor-intensive. By integrating Twist’s Fast Hyb protocol into Callisto's digital fluidics platform, laboratories can transition from a conventional overnight hybridization to a same-day sample-to-sequencer workflow without increasing operational demands.
Hybrid capture-based target enrichment typically poses challenges in automation due to the need for precise temperature control and meticulous magnetic bead manipulation. The Twist Fast Hyb App mitigates these challenges by allowing Callisto to control the process automatically, resulting in consistent outputs without the need for constant oversight from laboratory personnel.
According to testing, the Twist Fast Hyb App provides run-to-run consistency and reduces variability between different operators, addressing significant issues commonly found in manual procedures. The sequencing performance achieved with Callisto matches that of manual protocols, supported by quality control metrics such as Fold-80 and coverage uniformity, indicating that laboratories can automate this complicated workflow without compromising on performance.
