NC COURAGE, FIRST HORIZON FOUNDATION TO CO-SPONSOR A COURAGE-THEMED SOCCER EXHIBIT AT MARBLES KIDS MUSEUM
The North Carolina Courage has announced a multiyear partnership with the First Horizon Foundation to co-sponsor a soccer-themed exhibit at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. This initiative is aimed at providing a dedicated space for children to engage in soccer activities and is part of a broader investment in local youth.
The exhibit, which will be branded with the Courage name, is set to begin planning in the coming weeks and is expected to open by 2028. The Marbles Kids Museum is strategically located in the heart of downtown Raleigh, near Moore Square.
Courage Chief Business Officer Ralph Vuono expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, "Our partnership with the First Horizon Foundation is rooted in soccer and educational programming for young people, and this is a major opportunity for community impact. To support their mission while bringing our brand and our sport to the youth of the Triangle through an interactive, immersive exhibit and programming is a winning combination."
Laura Bunn, Mid-Atlantic Regional President for First Horizon Bank, emphasized the alignment of the organizations' values, saying, "The partnership among our organizations is grounded in shared values—education, youth, and community wellbeing—and a unified commitment to lift families and celebrate the sport that connects our region." Todd Warrick, Triangle Market President for First Horizon Bank, noted that the partnership aims to amplify the community's passion for soccer.
Marbles Kids Museum CEO Jonathan Frederick highlighted the community interest in a soccer-themed exhibit by stating, "Together, we'll expand our region's passion for the sport while kids learn to sharpen their skills and are introduced to early fundamentals of science and math through movement and play." The partnership includes a five-year agreement with various programming initiatives, including Courage Day to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
The North Carolina Courage competes in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and is recognized as the winningest team in league history, having secured multiple championships and awards. The First Horizon Foundation, established in 1993, focuses on supporting community needs in areas such as education, arts, and health services. Marbles Kids Museum, a nonprofit established in 2007, serves families and children through interactive exhibits and programs.
