VoltServer and Eaton Form Strategic Partnership to Advance Next-Generation Power Distribution

July 2, 2026

VoltServer has announced a strategic partnership with Eaton to advance next-generation power distribution infrastructure. This collaboration includes a strategic investment by Eaton in VoltServer, highlighting both companies' confidence in Digital Electricity and VoltServer's vision for modernizing power delivery through software-defined power architectures that support direct current (DC).

As trends such as AI, edge computing, automation, and electrification increase the demand for distributed power, they also drive innovation in traditional electrical distribution as well as the integration of DC-based power systems. Together, the companies aim to leverage Eaton's power management infrastructure and industry leadership alongside VoltServer's expertise in Digital Electricity to develop more intelligent and integrated power systems.

Dave Johnson, CEO at VoltServer, stated, "We believe a fundamentally new approach to power distribution is necessary to meet new demands. This partnership puts even more engineering expertise behind Digital Electricity and supports ongoing development efforts to address the needs of data center, commercial, industrial, residential, and utility environments."

The companies anticipate that the integrated solutions being explored through this collaboration will help deliver safe power over longer distances than conventional systems, reduce installation complexity with standardized designs, lower deployment costs through faster installation, and improve operational flexibility for critical facilities.

Michael Regelski, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Eaton's Electrical Sector, noted, "Our investment in VoltServer marks a critical step in accelerating advancements in next-generation DC power distribution architectures and fault-managed power. This collaboration will allow us to explore the potential of fault-managed power to help address evolving customer needs."

Initial development efforts are expected to concentrate on co-creating hardware and software solutions tailored for modern environments where digital infrastructure resiliency, efficiency, and speed of deployment are essential. Digital Electricity, which allows for the delivery of thousands of kilowatts of power safely and efficiently, will play a central role in the joint solutions brought to market by the two companies.
