Saudia Arabia's Mabani Aljazeera Group invests in Tatu City's Jabali Towers development

TATU CITY, Kenya, July 3, 2026 — Mabani Aljazeera Holding Group, a private Saudi Arabian construction and investment company, will invest in Jabali Towers, a mixed-use development in Tatu City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Kenya. The investment, made through Mabani's subsidiary, Swan Properties, is seen as a significant endorsement of East Africa's investment landscape.

Key figures present at the agreement signing included John Mwendwa, CEO of InvestKenya; Abdullah AlMalki, Chairman of Mabani Aljazeera Holdings Group; Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour, the owner and developer of Tatu City; and Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry. Under the agreement, Mabani will acquire a 50% minus one share stake in the Jabali Towers development.

Jabali Towers features two towers, 25 and 36 stories high, and will offer a variety of amenities, including 35 restaurants and retail shops. The first tower has reportedly achieved over 80% sales. Recently, Tatu City appointed China Road and Bridge Corporation as the main contractor for the project, which encompasses 88,000 square meters.

Abdullah AlMalki stated, "Mabani Aljazeera Holding Group and Swan Properties are delighted to invest in the landmark Jabali Towers development at Tatu City. A combination of our skills, construction materials, and capital will make Jabali Towers the preeminent real estate development in Africa." Swan Properties will hold the minority stake, while Rendeavour will remain the majority shareholder in the development.

The investment was praised by the Saudi Export Import Bank, which aims to promote the development of Saudi exports. Stephen Jennings remarked, "Mabani Aljazeera Holding Group and Swan Properties' investment in Tatu City and Kenya is underpinned by Rendeavour's 20-year track record of delivering on its promises in Africa. Every year, Tatu City attracts more than half of all foreign direct investment in Kenya."

Jabali Towers will offer a range of residential options, starting at KES 10.2 million (approximately USD 78,200). The project benefits from significant infrastructure investments, including reliable water supply, power, high-speed internet, and extensive road networks. Notably, Tatu City aims to create a live-work-play environment, further bolstered by the scheduled 2028 opening of Wellington College International Kenya and the upcoming Tatu Wildlife Sanctuary, which is set to launch at the end of 2026.

As Africa's fastest-growing urban destination, Tatu City currently supports over 7,000 residents and attracts daily visitors exceeding 35,000. The development, valued at over USD 3.5 billion, includes more than 110 businesses, educational institutions for over 6,000 students, and a variety of mixed-income housing.
