Alibaba's Damai International Introduces New Label, Launches Global Artist Initiative

Damai International, the international arm of Damai Entertainment, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group, has introduced a new artist development and content production label called ORCA (Original Creative Artists). The launch took place alongside the announcement of a worldwide artist initiative named "All My Anecdotes Global Audition." This initiative is part of Damai International's efforts to expand into artist development and the global entertainment market.

Walter Zheng, president of Damai International, stated, "This program represents an important step in our global talent development strategy. We aim to discover promising talent worldwide and provide them with the resources, training and opportunities they need to thrive." He emphasized that the initiative leverages Alibaba's ecosystem and ORCA's creative capabilities to empower talent on the global stage.

To commemorate the launch, ORCA released a brand trailer featuring dancer and choreographer Audrey Lane, known for her work with Jam Republic on the show "Street Woman Fighter 2," and singer-songwriter DANY. The trailer captures a blend of music and dance reflecting the creative vision of ORCA and All My Anecdotes, emphasizing the significance of shared moments and inspirations.

The global audition, which runs from July 3 to August 3, is open to aspiring performers without restrictions on gender, age, or nationality. Selected candidates will join ORCA's existing artist roster and receive comprehensive training in performance, music production, and stagecraft tailored to their individual strengths. ORCA plans to debut a new international music group selected from the program.

Daryl Wang, the senior vice president of music business at Damai International, remarked on the essence of ORCA, stating, "ORCA is about creativity, artistry and thinking beyond borders." He expressed excitement for the involvement of artists like DANY and Audrey Lane in the initiative, which aims to foster a collaborative environment for aspiring performers.

Damai International continues to expand its live entertainment ecosystem, with businesses spanning live event ticketing, artist management, content production, and more. In November 2025, it launched a global ticketing platform called MAISEAT, which has expanded into various markets.
