BEYONCÉ RELEASES NEW SONG, 'MORNING DEW (DONK)' 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY SERVES A TREAT FOR HER FANS
Beyoncé has released a new song titled "MORNING DEW (DONK)" to commemorate the upcoming re-issue of her second album, B'DAY, which was initially released on her 25th birthday, September 4, 2006. This release coincides with the Fourth of July holiday and marks the beginning of a 60-day countdown to her next birthday and the album's anniversary.
"MORNING DEW (DONK)" was co-written by Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, and Darius Dixon, with production by Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams. This track is her first new music in two years, and serves as a tribute to her dedicated fan base, known as the BeyHive, in anticipation of the special milestone.
The song will be part of the 20th Anniversary edition of B'DAY and is accompanied by a lyric video that features archival footage, directed by Cliff Watts. Watts has previously collaborated with Beyoncé, capturing her iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover when she turned 25.
B'DAY was Beyoncé's second consecutive #1 album, achieving first-week sales of 541,196 copies following its release. The album topped the US Billboard 200 chart and repeated this success internationally, reaching the number one spot on the International Album Chart in Japan within three days of its release.
