Nabsys Appoints Genome Mapping Pioneer Alka Chaubey, Ph.D., as Chief Medical and Genomics Officer

Nabsys 2.0, LLC has announced the appointment of Alka Chaubey, Ph.D., FACMG, as its Chief Medical and Genomics Officer, effective July 6, 2026. Dr. Chaubey, who previously served as Chief Medical Officer at Bionano Genomics, will lead the company's medical and scientific affairs strategy as it aims to expand the global adoption of its electronic genome mapping (EGM) platform, OhmX™.

In her new role, Dr. Chaubey will focus on strengthening collaborations with researchers and key opinion leaders, while driving the application of high-resolution structural variant analysis in cancer, constitutional research, and cell and gene therapy applications. Barrett Bready, M.D., Founder and CEO of Nabsys, expressed confidence in Dr. Chaubey's expertise, noting her experience in clinical-grade assay development and regulatory compliance as essential for the company's growth.

Dr. Chaubey highlighted her commitment to accelerating the adoption of electronic genome mapping. She emphasized that the OhmX Platform has the potential to significantly enhance accessibility and scalability in both research and clinical settings. She also noted the importance of Nabsys's leadership team and its partnership with Hitachi High-Tech in realizing the company's strategic vision.

With over 20 years of experience in molecular genetics and genomics, Dr. Chaubey has a rich background in various fields including cytogenomics and molecular diagnostics. She has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications and has held leadership roles in several professional organizations, contributing substantially to advancements in genome mapping.

Prior to her role at Bionano Genomics, Dr. Chaubey was the Head of Cytogenomics at PerkinElmer Genomics, where she spearheaded the launch of innovative genomic testing products. Her academic contributions include positions as Scientific Director at the Georgia Esoteric and Molecular Laboratory and Augusta University, and she holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
