VMS Solutions Enhances TKG Taekwang's Production Planning Capabilities, Achieving Fourfold Improvement in Planning Speed
VMS Solutions has announced that TKG Taekwang, a global footwear manufacturer, has successfully implemented MOZART 3.0, the company's advanced production planning solution. This deployment is intended to enhance TKG Taekwang's ability to respond to the complexities of make-to-order manufacturing environments.
TKG Taekwang has over 50 years of experience in the footwear industry and operates a global manufacturing network that serves major sports brands, specializing in high-value footwear products. The company faced challenges in managing production across multiple manufacturing sites due to its legacy systems, which were operated independently by different subsidiaries. As a result, even minor changes in production required a complete overhaul of the production plan, leading to extended planning cycles.
The adoption of MOZART 3.0 allows TKG Taekwang to centrally manage its production plans across various sites. The solution enables selective replanning of affected production lines when conditions change, helping to streamline the overall planning process. The system's advanced planning engine and interactive editing capabilities provide the necessary flexibility to accommodate complex production constraints.
The implementation has significantly improved planning efficiency, with execution speeds for major scenarios increasing by approximately four to five times compared to the previous system. In addition, the newfound ability to generate plans for multiple subsidiaries while selectively modifying only certain production lines has reduced planning lead times and decreased the manual workload for planners by more than 50 percent.
TKG Taekwang has noted that the enhancements in planning speed and selective replanning capabilities have led to greater overall efficiency in production planning. A spokesperson for VMS Solutions highlighted that this deployment exemplifies how footwear manufacturers can enhance their operational flexibility by integrating planning across different manufacturing sites.
