July 12, 2026

Brigham nurses and MGB Home Care clinicians have expressed their readiness to negotiate until resolutions are reached regarding their contracts. The largest nurse strike and lockout in Massachusetts history is set to conclude at 6:59 a.m. on Monday, July 13, with a Brigham Nurse Solidarity Walk-In. MGB Home Care clinicians will continue their strike on Monday and Tuesday, culminating in a rally outside MGB Headquarters at Assembly Row in Somerville at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Picketing will persist outside the main hospital at 75 Francis St. until the designated end time. Nurses are expected to gather on Monday morning prior to 6:59 a.m. for a brief rally, after which they will drop their picket signs. Following this, nurses will walk to the main entrance at 75 Francis St. Those scheduled to work will enter the hospital to provide care for patients while other nurses and supporters remain outside in solidarity.

On Sunday, picketing will continue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Monday and Tuesday, it will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clinicians plan to rally at 2 p.m. on Tuesday to signify the conclusion of their seven-day strike. The rally will be attended by elected officials, community supporters, and Brigham nurses who are advocating for a fair contract.

The MGB Home Care bargaining unit consists of 450 members, including registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists, social workers, and dieticians.
