Graphic Packaging Enters Uncoated Recycled Paperboard Market with Launch of PaceSetter Ridgeline
Graphic Packaging Holding Company has announced the launch of PaceSetter Ridgeline, marking its entry into the uncoated recycled paperboard (URB) market. This new offering is designed for various applications, including folding cartons, laminations, edge protectors, tubes and cores, as well as other specialty uses. The introduction of PaceSetter Ridgeline allows Graphic Packaging to serve a broader range of paperboard and consumer packaging customers.
Robbert Rietbroek, president and chief executive officer at Graphic Packaging, said the new grade expands the company's recycled paperboard platform to new markets and customers, further diversifying its portfolio to include industrial applications. He emphasized that this uncoated grade provides customers with a fit-for-purpose recycled paperboard option backed by the reliability and manufacturing capability associated with Graphic Packaging.
PaceSetter Ridgeline is made from 100% recycled fiber, with at least 45% of that content being post-consumer recycled materials. It is available in calipers ranging from 12 to 30 points and is produced at Graphic Packaging's Waco, Texas, paperboard mill. This facility allows for smooth transitions between coated and uncoated recycled paperboard, providing the flexibility needed to quickly adjust to changes in customer demand. The mill's advanced technology also enhances sheet squareness, color consistency, quality assurance, and converting performance in high-volume applications.
Graphic Packaging Holding Company, headquartered in Atlanta, designs and produces consumer packaging that primarily uses renewable or recycled materials. The company aims to reduce the environmental impact of consumer packaging and operates a global network of design and manufacturing facilities that serve many leading brands in various sectors, including food, beverage, and household products.
