Winter Park Institute Appoints Lindsay Kist as Executive Director

The Winter Park Institute has announced the appointment of Lindsay Kist as its new Executive Director, a move that signifies an important development for the organization as it seeks to enhance its impact, elevate global thought leadership, and deepen community engagement.

Kist, who has over 15 years of experience in philanthropy, communications, partnership development, and community-centered programming, previously served as Vice President at the Winter Park Health Foundation. In that role, she led strategic initiatives, cross-sector collaborations, and public engagement efforts that aligned with the Foundation's mission. Her experience includes securing funding and building visibility while fostering relationships with civic leaders, donors, and national partners.

"Lindsay is a dynamic, purpose-driven leader whose experience and vision align perfectly with the future of the Winter Park Institute," said Lawrence Lyman, Chair of the Board of Trustees. Kist's background in cultivating partnerships and her strong ties to the community are expected to enhance the Institute's mission as it enters a new season of growth and impact.

Kist expressed her commitment to the organization, stating, "I've long believed that communities are strengthened by curiosity, thoughtful conversation, and the willingness to engage with ideas that challenge and inspire us." She aims to expand the Institute's reach and create opportunities for community engagement.

As Executive Director, Kist will be responsible for strategy, programming, partnerships, and community engagement, furthering the Institute's commitment to meaningful dialogue and innovative ideas that benefit individuals and communities. Mark Freid, the former Executive Director, will focus on his role as CEO of Think Integrated and continue to support the Institute through his position on the Board of Trustees.

The Winter Park Institute was founded in 2007 by Rollins College to promote liberal education and host world-renowned thinkers in Central Florida. Now an independent 501(c)(3), its mission is to foster meaningful conversations with global thought leaders, while its programming covers themes such as Human Flourishing & Well-Being, Community & Civic Life, Innovation & the Future, and Arts, Culture & Story.
