Emergent Raises Series C at $1.5 Billion Valuation, Becomes Unicorn in a Year of Launch
Emergent, an AI software creation platform, has announced a $130 million Series C funding round, bringing its total funding to $230 million. The funding round was led by Creaegis, with MNI Ventures - Claypond Capital and Sentinel Global as co-lead investors, and participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator.
The latest funding round values Emergent at $1.5 billion, reflecting a fivefold increase in valuation over the past four months. The company reached unicorn status just a year after its public launch, positioning itself as one of the fastest-scaling AI companies worldwide. This growth is attributed to the growing use of AI-powered software creation by entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Since its launch, Emergent has enabled users to build over 12 million applications, particularly among non-technical entrepreneurs and small business owners. The platform has gained traction primarily in the United States and Europe, while also expanding into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Australia, South America, and other regions.
Mukund Jha, Co-founder and CEO of Emergent, expressed his vision for the future of software development, emphasizing the democratization of software creation. He noted that Emergent aims to make software development accessible to individuals with great ideas, regardless of their technical skills. The platform allows users to create various software applications using autonomous AI agents without needing traditional engineering talent.
