Rothera Selects Connamara Systems to Build Innovative Reference Management System for Event Contracts
Connamara Systems has been engaged by Rothera, a CFTC-regulated event contract market, to assist in the development of essential infrastructure for event contract instrument management. This collaboration aims to support Rothera's expansion following its successful launch in May, which included products related to the Core PCE Price Index, US Weekly Jobless Claims, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Rothera was established as a joint venture between Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group, serving futures commissions merchants (FCMs) and institutional clients. The platform is designed to enable traders to take positions on significant events, providing timely information for leaders and decision-makers.
The exchange allows participants to trade regulated swap event contracts across various sectors, including sports, geopolitics, macroeconomics, and public policy. Rather than competing with FCMs, Rothera offers a regulated exchange and clearing infrastructure for financial intermediaries and institutional customers.
Rothera chose Connamara for its extensive experience in developing custom financial markets software. The two organizations will work together to enhance the data platform with additional capabilities to support Rothera's growth. Mike Gatny, President and COO of Connamara, noted the importance of technical excellence and certainty in delivery for the evolving event contract markets. Ian Grieves, Chief Product Officer of Rothera, highlighted the successful launch of RIMS, Rothera's reference data management system, which will facilitate customer integrations and scalability.
Connamara Systems, founded in 1998, specializes in custom software development for the global financial industry, while Rothera provides institutional-grade trading and clearing infrastructure to support responsible growth in event markets.
