Castle in the Clouds Hires Kayla Szczesiul as Director of Advancement

Castle in the Clouds has announced the appointment of Kayla Szczesiul as the new Director of Advancement. With nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and community partnerships, Szczesiul is expected to enhance the marketing and outreach efforts of both Castle in the Clouds and the Castle Preservation Society (CPS).

In her role as Director of Advancement, Szczesiul will be responsible for organizing, supporting, and coordinating CPS fundraising and marketing initiatives aimed at generating both philanthropic and earned revenue. She plans to collaborate closely with employees and volunteers to develop, oversee, and implement marketing strategies to support the mission of CPS.

"The 20th anniversary of the Castle Preservation Society marks the start of a new chapter for Castle in the Clouds," said Executive Director Charles Clark. "As we begin a new phase for CPS, we are thrilled to welcome Kayla on the team to lead our fundraising and community outreach efforts. Her experience, vision, and resourcefulness will help us shape the next 20 years of the Castle and beyond."

Before joining Castle in the Clouds, Szczesiul served as Development Director for Monadnock Family Services in Keene, NH. She holds a master's degree in Community-Based Social Marketing from Prescott College and has worked with various organizations across the country in donor relations and development roles.

Castle in the Clouds operates as a historical museum in New Hampshire's Lakes Region, offering visitors a glimpse into the past along with contemporary comforts. Originally known as Lucknow, the estate was built in 1913 by shoe manufacturer Thomas G. Plant. The 6,300-acre property features a mansion, an exhibit gallery, dining options, and miles of hiking trails, and is recognized as a cultural and educational resource listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The venue also serves as a location for weddings and private events.
