Reolink Releases the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen, Leveraging Qualcomm Technology for Longer-Lasting Front-Door Security

Reolink, a leader in intelligent visual technology for homes and businesses, has announced the release of the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen on Reolink.com. This new product joins the Argus Magicam as part of Reolink's Power-Efficient Series and features the Qualcomm® QCC730 micro-power Wi-Fi solution, providing up to 50% longer battery life than standard Wi-Fi cameras, without compromising on features or requiring a subscription.

The Video Doorbell 2nd Gen enhances front-door security with a 4MP head-to-toe 1:1 view and on-device smart detection capabilities for people, vehicles, animals, and packages, ensuring reliable, real-time awareness. The doorbell operates in two modes to accommodate different home setups. In Battery Power Mode, it can be installed wire-free or connected to compatible 8–24VAC doorbell wiring to maintain battery charge and minimize manual recharging. An Optional Wired Power Mode allows for continuous power and complete recording, connecting to compatible 16–24VAC power.

Annie Potter, Head of Marketing at Reolink North America, stated, "With the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen, we wanted to give homeowners and renters more flexibility without asking them to compromise on performance. From flexible installation options and extended battery life to head-to-toe viewing and subscription-free local AI, this new generation delivers the features people want most in a doorbell camera while staying true to Reolink's commitment to practical, reliable security."

Key features of the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen include a 2048×2048 square aspect ratio for head-to-toe views, flexible power options, and an extended battery life of up to 10 months on a single charge based on 5 minutes of daily recording. The device also offers on-device smart detection, added privacy and security features such as tamper alerts, and compatibility with various smart home systems.

The Video Doorbell 2nd Gen is available for $149.99 on Reolink.com and in Reolink's official Amazon store. It includes local storage via microSD card (up to 512GB), ensuring users have access to footage without monthly fees. Reolink aims to provide seamless security solutions and has established itself as a significant provider in the global market, emphasizing innovation in security technology.
