Knox Systems Opens Arlington, Virginia Headquarters to Accelerate Federal Mission Support
Knox Systems has officially opened its new headquarters in the Washington-area Crystal City, housing its Security Operations Center (SOC) and Risk Operations Center (ROC) as part of an effort to scale towards a 30% growth in headcount. The opening follows a $25 million Series A funding round and aims to bring the company's FedRAMP operations closer to the federal agencies it serves.
The strategically located office represents a significant investment in Knox's growth, reinforcing its commitment to the federal market. Being situated within minutes of federal agencies, customers, and major transportation hubs will facilitate closer collaboration, while supporting Knox's expansion in the Washington, D.C. region. This Arlington office will serve as the primary operational hub for Knox's DevOps and InfoTech teams, which will focus on continuous monitoring, cybersecurity operations, customer success, and compliance services.
Hemant Baidwan, Executive Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Knox Systems and former CISO of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, emphasized the importance of having the Security and Risk Operations Centers co-located, stating, "Bringing our Security and Risk Operations Centers together under one roof in Arlington strengthens how we collaborate, respond, and deliver the support our customers and agencies depend on."
Knox's expansion comes as the company approaches a total of 70 employees, with more than 20% based in the Washington, D.C. area. A significant share of future hires is anticipated to operate from the new Arlington office.
Irina Denisenko, CEO of Knox Systems, noted, "Opening our largest office in Arlington is a direct investment in the customers and mission we serve." She highlighted the significant federal spending on software and the limited number of available SaaS applications for government use, and the need for closer collaboration with federal partners.
Knox is recognized for accelerating FedRAMP Authorization, the U.S. Government's security standard for cloud services. The new office builds on Knox's recent successes and customer relationships, which include partnerships with Acsense and Sierra, both of which rely on Knox for delivering integrated resilience capabilities to federal environments.
