Syracuse, Indiana Landscaping Company Targets 20% Growth After Strategic Acquisition

Dynamic Landscaping, a landscaping company based in Syracuse, Indiana, has reported annual revenues exceeding $3.2 million just two years after acquiring Lawn & Turf Landscaping, a Fort Wayne maintenance firm established 65 years ago. The company, founded in 2016 by Crystal Knafel, is now aiming for 20% growth across its operations in 2026.

The acquisition of Lawn & Turf Landscaping marked a significant shift for Dynamic Landscaping, which initially focused on residential work. This move into the commercial maintenance sector provided new learning opportunities and expanded the company's market reach. Currently, Dynamic Landscaping employs 65 individuals and has a combined annual revenue close to $5.2 million with Lawn & Turf.

"Every business we've brought into the fold has taught us something new about how to run this company better," said Knafel. She emphasized that acquisitions not only contribute to revenue but also bring in experienced personnel and established community trust.

Since its inception, Knafel has expanded Dynamic Landscaping through several smaller acquisitions, with Lawn & Turf being the most significant to date. Knafel plans to continue this growth by pursuing three to five acquisitions each year, particularly in Indiana and Ohio, and is considering entering the Indianapolis market. Additionally, she is looking for smaller acquisitions in the fertilization and irrigation segments.

The company has also emphasized leadership development as a crucial aspect of its growth strategy. Dynamic Landscaping has cultivated a team with women in various leadership positions, reflecting Knafel's commitment to providing opportunities for advancement. She stated, "I want the people who work here to see a path for themselves, whether that's running a crew, managing a division, or eventually leading a company of their own."

Dynamic Landscaping's innovative growth strategy and leadership development have recently been featured in the trade publication Lawn & Landscape, which noted the company's implementation of an Entrepreneurial Operating System to guide its scaling efforts.

Founded in 2016, Dynamic Landscaping provides a range of services, including landscape design and installation, lawn care, hardscaping, irrigation, drainage, outdoor living spaces, and snow and ice management to residential and commercial clients in Syracuse, Warsaw, Goshen, Nappanee, and the surrounding Lake Wawasee communities.
