Emerson Expands Ovation AI Portfolio with New Intelligent Agents

Emerson has introduced new Ovation AI Agents for the power and water industries, enhancing the AI capabilities of the Ovation Automation Platform 4.0. The five new agents—Sequence Assistant Agent, Alarm Insight Agent, Predictive Maintenance Agent, Root Cause Agent, and Loop Performance Monitor Agent—are designed to support plant personnel by continuously monitoring operations and providing actionable insights.

These agents integrate into the Ovation Automation Platform, streamlining workflows by embedding recommendations directly within existing operations, alarms, and maintenance tasks. This integration reduces the time required for data analysis from hours or days to minutes, addressing challenges such as workforce transitions and operator information overload.

Bob Yeager, president of Emerson's power and water solutions business, stated, "Ovation AI Agents deliver a major step change in our AI portfolio, representing a significant advancement in how we help our customers build more intelligent, efficient and resilient operations." The AI-enabled agents perform complex data analysis, facilitating a shift from reactive to proactive planning without disrupting daily workflows.

The deployment of the Ovation AI Agents will occur in phases, starting with features tailored to various operational needs. Early examples include the Sequence Assistant Agent, which can diagnose issues during operations in seconds, and the Predictive Maintenance Agent, which detects equipment degradation before it leads to failures.

The launch of the new Ovation AI Agents is slated for this fall, allowing customers to begin using the agents based on their immediate operational priorities. Emerson plans to release an additional 28 agents over time, covering a wide range of functions within the operations, maintenance, and optimization domains, further integrating AI-driven solutions into their system.
