Katalyst Strengthens Its Platform with the Acquisition of Layer27
Katalyst has announced its acquisition of Layer27, a managed services and cybersecurity provider based in Durham, North Carolina, known for its expertise in Microsoft technologies and its strong presence in healthcare and other regulated sectors. This acquisition marks Katalyst's first tuck-in acquisition following its partnership with e4n in May 2026 and aims to enhance the company's operations in the Research Triangle, adding technical capabilities and talent.
With this acquisition, Layer27's team will join Katalyst, ensuring that existing clients continue to receive service from their familiar contacts. Over the coming weeks, Layer27's technology stack, vendor relationships, and service delivery will be integrated into Katalyst's platform, with a focus on maintaining continuity of service.
The combined entity is expected to improve its ability to assist customers in adopting artificial intelligence while fortifying cybersecurity and digital operations. Katalyst's strategy includes both organic growth and selective acquisitions that contribute complementary expertise and long-term value for clients.
