Ebix Health Expands Medical Content and Coding Capabilities
Ebix has announced the launch of the A.D.A.M. Medical Coding Platform aimed at healthcare organizations and content partners, enhancing production and delivery capabilities within its Health Content and Wellness division. These initiatives are intended to broaden content licensing opportunities, improve delivery speed, and facilitate more efficient growth, while ensuring physician-led review and editorial oversight.
The A.D.A.M. Medical Coding Platform employs automated coding supported by expert review, aligning health content with widely adopted healthcare standards such as ICD-10 and LOINC. The platform is capable of processing thousands of articles each day, generating coded content that is structured for integration into electronic health records, patient portals, and digital health platforms, thereby providing relevant educational material during clinical workflows.
This platform can be utilized globally, accommodating local coding conventions, language requirements, and implementation standards. ICD standards are recognized worldwide, while LOINC is acknowledged in over 30 countries.
In addition to the new coding platform, Ebix has introduced automated production workflows intended to streamline the publication and delivery of physician-developed educational programs. These workflows enable quicker dissemination of clinical updates and allow editorial teams to allocate more time to collaborative efforts with physicians, clinical review, and content quality enhancement.
Furthermore, an AI-powered media platform has been developed to transform a single educational program into multiple formats, including audio, video, transcripts, and shorter topical segments, providing physicians across more than 25 specialties with greater flexibility in accessing educational content. All accredited educational material continues to be generated under physician leadership, with reviews and approvals by qualified physician faculty prior to publication.
Gagan Sethi, Chief Executive Officer of Ebix, stated, "These capabilities strengthen a business that already has deep clinical credibility and give it more ways to grow. We expect these investments to contribute to revenue growth, improved operating margins, and a broader role for Ebix in health content and medical education." Mary Beth Titsworth, Vice President of Health Content, emphasized the importance of maintaining delivery standards while expanding content access, highlighting the central role of physician-led review in their brand's trustworthiness.
