BRIJ Medical Awarded Breakthrough Technology Designation for BRIJ-SEAL™ Advanced Wound Sealant with Premier, Inc.

BRIJ Medical, Inc., a company specializing in surgical incision management through wound closure technologies, has announced the acquisition of a Breakthrough Technology designation from Premier, Inc. This designation is awarded to innovations that significantly enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiencies.

Effective August 1, 2026, the agreement allows Premier members to access special pricing and terms for BRIJ-SEAL™, an advanced wound sealant. This product joins BRIJ Medical's existing Breakthrough Technology designations for Brijjit® BP-100 and Brijjit® BP-75 Force Modulating Tissue Bridges.

BRIJ-SEAL™ is a single-use, sterile, hypoallergenic sealant designed to protect and reinforce post-operative incisions. It provides a 14-day bacterial barrier and is breathable, waterproof, and flexible during the healing process. Unlike traditional skin adhesives with cyanoacrylates, BRIJ-SEAL uses a proprietary hypoallergenic adhesive platform that has shown no allergic reactions in six clinical studies.

Clinical evidence, including a randomized controlled trial at UTSW, has validated BRIJ Medical's incision management platform, demonstrating a 90% reduction in wound breakdown and a 38% reduction in scar area, which contributes to improved healing outcomes and patient satisfaction. Gleeson emphasized that adding BRIJ-SEAL to their Premier agreement showcases their commitment to providing surgeons with a diverse portfolio of innovative technologies that enhance healing while simplifying care.
