Simparo Inc., operating as Simparo Surgical, has received its fourth U.S. patent, U.S. Patent No. 12,661,103, which was granted on June 23, 2026. The company, based in Alabama and supported by Innovate Alabama and Hatch Fairhope, aims to enhance the state's orthopedic technology sector.

The new patent addresses challenges related to Thumb CMC reconstruction, particularly in achieving quick and secure basal joint reconstruction. Traditional methods often involve tendon harvesting and complex tensioning approaches, while Simparo's Falcon Suture Clutch uses a one-way cinching design to allow surgeons to complete repairs with controlled tension incrementally.
