AbsenceSoft Introduces Payroll Calculations to Simplify Pay Management for Leaves

AbsenceSoft has introduced Payroll Calculations, a new module designed to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of leave pay calculations by integrating leave administration and payroll functions into a single platform. This development aims to address challenges faced by organizations in managing overlapping leave policies that can complicate payroll processes.

The company notes that many human resources information systems (HRIS) do not effectively handle the complexities involved in calculating leave pay, which often leads to reliance on spreadsheets and manual processes. According to AbsenceSoft's 2026 State of Leave and Accommodations Report, manual management of leave-related compliance can expose organizations to risks such as overpayments or underpayments. Additionally, delays in paycheck processing can negatively impact employee experience, as 40% of employees indicate they might consider leaving their job after encountering a poor leave experience.

With Payroll Calculations, leave administrators can provide accurate pay estimates to payroll teams, streamlining the process and reducing the need for back-and-forth communication. Payroll teams benefit by receiving policy-compliant leave pay calculations directly from the platform, minimizing errors and the reconciliation workload associated with manual calculations. The module is integrated with AbsenceSoft's Compliance Engine™ (ACE), which enhances oversight and control over calculations, automatically adjusting pay when changes occur.

Among the early adopters of Payroll Calculations is Southern Illinois Healthcare, whose HR Leave and Absence Case Navigator, Esther Kabwe, expressed optimism about the module's potential for improving their time-consuming manual processes. Mike Roedig, CIO at the third-party administrator Charles Taylor, highlighted the anticipated time savings and ease of use for clients, while Bethany Kinerson from OneDigital emphasized the importance of accurate payroll calculations for their large client base.

Payroll Calculations will be broadly available on August 18 as an add-on to the AbsenceSoft platform following a successful beta period. For further information, visit AbsenceSoft's website.
