Winshear Reports Drill Results from the Rodburn Target, Portsoy Project, NE Scotland
Winshear Metals Corp. has reported positive drill results from its recently completed drill program at the Rodburn Target of the Portsoy Project in northeast Scotland, indicating a substantial increase in the area of high-grade mineralization.
In the South Zone, drilling successfully extended high-grade mineralization by 100 meters down-dip from previous intercepts. Drill hole RBD029 returned 8.15 meters grading 0.77% nickel (Ni), 1.14% copper (Cu), and 0.05% cobalt (Co), which included 6.0 meters grading 0.98% Ni, 1.51% Cu, and 0.06% Co. Additionally, drill hole RBD030 intersected 4 meters grading 0.29% Ni and 0.18% Cu located further 100 meters down-dip from RBD029, indicating a mineralized halo surrounding the massive sulfide mineralization. Downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveying in RBD030 identified a strong conductor with characteristics of massive sulfide mineralization situated 100 meters east of the drill hole.
Drilling in the North Zone, specifically drill hole RBD028, extended mineralization 100 meters west of earlier holes RBD015 and RBD016. RBD028 intersected two stronger mineralized zones measuring 3 meters at 0.98% Ni and 0.14% Cu, and 4 meters at 0.76% Ni and 0.32% Cu, both within a broader 16-meter zone grading 0.39% Ni and 0.14% Cu. These findings suggest significant growth of the North Zone.
Richard Williams, CEO of Winshear, stated that these results affirm the company's belief that Rodburn is part of a larger nickel-copper-cobalt system. He noted that additional drilling is necessary to further delineate the extent of mineralization but emphasized that the current findings meet key objectives set for the program. Williams highlighted technical achievements, such as the expansion of high-grade mineralization and the successful application of downhole EM surveying to guide future drilling efforts.
The company completed a total of six diamond drill holes during the 2026 drill program, amounting to 1,235.6 meters. Four holes were focused on the North Zone while two targeted the South Zone. Further plans include drilling the newly identified DHEM conductor in the South Zone and continuing the expansion of both zones.
