VinSpace Announces Launch Contract with SpaceX, Marking a New Milestone for Vietnam's Space Industry

VinSpace Joint Stock Company has announced the signing of a launch contract with U.S.-based SpaceX. This agreement marks a significant milestone in VinSpace's roadmap to build comprehensive aerospace capabilities and advance its mission to foster the development of Vietnam's space industry.

Under the agreement, VinSpace's satellites are scheduled to launch aboard a Transporter rideshare mission in 2027 as part of SpaceX's rideshare program, which allows multiple customers to share a single launch. VinSpace is responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and on-orbit operation of its satellites, which are intended to support technology demonstrations, enhance engineering capabilities, and facilitate future commercial applications.

The contract creates a foundation for VinSpace’s first satellite missions and follows the company’s announcement in April 2026 regarding its plans to launch its first satellites into orbit in 2027. The agreement further signifies VinSpace's long-term ambition to become a full-stack aerospace company, covering the entire space value chain including satellite design, manufacturing, launch mission management, and satellite operations.

Chief Executive Officer of VinSpace, Mr. Thu Vu, emphasized the importance of reliable access to space for transforming satellite innovation into operational missions. He stated that the contract with SpaceX serves as a vital step in the company's long-term strategy to bolster Vietnam's position in the global space economy.

VinSpace's forthcoming satellite missions are expected to validate in-orbit technologies, advance Vietnam's aerospace talent, enhance international collaboration, and aid in the commercialization of space technologies. With the growing relevance of satellites and space technologies to economic growth and infrastructure resilience, VinSpace aims to reinforce Vietnam's sovereign space capabilities and provide sustainable solutions for regional and international markets.
