NEW SURVEY: VOTERS NATIONWIDE BACK ARTISTS' FIGHT TO FIX CONCERT TICKET RESALE

May 15, 2026

A new national survey confirms prevailing concerns about the concert ticket resale market, indicating it is failing both fans and artists. The survey, conducted on behalf of the Music Artists Coalition (MAC), sampled 800 registered voters nationwide and found substantial bipartisan support for several reforms currently under consideration.

Key findings reveal significant voter demand for price accountability. A majority of 78% support a resale price cap, while 85% favor requirements for face value disclosure. Just 40% of voters express trust in resale platforms to provide tickets at fair prices, highlighting growing skepticism toward the secondary market.

Additionally, voters are calling for measures to combat ticket fraud. A strong 83% support prohibiting the sale of tickets by sellers who do not own them, and 88% believe that resale platforms should be required to verify the ownership of tickets. Such accountability has been lacking in the resale industry, with virtually no opposition to these proposals.

The survey also indicates that 68% of voters are more likely to support elected officials advocating for a speculative ticket ban, while 60% are encouraged by support for a resale price cap. These findings suggest that ticketing reform is a mainstream, bipartisan priority with potential electoral consequences.

The survey was conducted by Breakwater Strategy from February 9 to 19, 2026, among 800 registered voters nationwide.
