KT SAT Evolves into a 'Total Space Solution Provider' Presenting the Vision of "Space for Humanity"

KT SAT participated in the Space Industry Forum (SIF), a major event in the global space and satellite industry held during Asia Tech x Singapore, Asia's largest ICT exhibition. The company shared insights on the evolving satellite communications market and its future strategic direction.

Kevin Kyeong-il Choi, CEO of KT SAT, attended the forum as a panelist and discussed the company's vision for the future of space business. During a panel session titled "Satellite Operators at a Crossroads: Scale, Strategy, and Differentiation," Choi noted that the satellite industry is transitioning from a traditional GEO-based capacity model to a managed service model focusing on multi-orbit connectivity. He highlighted the growing importance of integrating terrestrial and satellite networks for national security and communications sovereignty in the 6G era.

Choi identified three key themes that will shape the future of the satellite market: Sovereignty, Mobility, and Universal Connectivity. He stated that countries will increasingly seek independent sovereign networks and emphasized the importance of global cooperation among these networks. Choi also mentioned the potential for an intensified digital divide in the AI era and underscored KT SAT's commitment to providing equal connectivity opportunities for everyone under its vision of "Space for Humanity."

In response to market changes, KT SAT is enhancing its multi-orbit strategy by integrating various satellite and terrestrial networks. Choi explained that customers prioritize seamless connectivity over distinctions among GEO, LEO, or MEO satellites. He highlighted the company's XWAVE-ONE, an SD-WAN-based integrated connectivity solution, which is already serving hundreds of vessels by combining multiple satellite and terrestrial networks.

Choi concluded that future competitive advantages will hinge on the ability to operationalize integrated networks and services rather than merely on satellite ownership. He expressed KT SAT's commitment to collaborating with global partners to foster the development of a next-generation sovereign connectivity ecosystem.

Additionally, KT SAT showcased several next-generation technologies and solutions at its exhibition booth, including the XWAVE-ONE platform, operational concepts for defense aviation satellite solutions, and a next-generation PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) business direction based on TWSTFT (Two-Way Satellite Time and Frequency Transfer), suitable for environments with GNSS jamming and spoofing capabilities. The company's innovations drew significant attention from attendees at the event.
