AutoFlight V5000 Matrix Concludes 'Heterogeneous Three-Aircraft Formation' Flight, Officially Kicks Off Airworthiness Certification

KUNSHAN, China – AutoFlight has successfully completed a demonstration flight of a heterogeneous three-aircraft formation, which included one V5000 Matrix and two V2000-series eVTOL aircraft. This mission validated important capabilities such as communication links, route planning, flight coordination, and safety control across the 5-ton and 2-ton platforms. The demonstration highlights AutoFlight's advances in system integration and multi-aircraft coordinated operations, particularly for low-altitude logistics, emergency response, maritime support, and regional air transport networks.

The V5000 Matrix, a flagship model in AutoFlight's "From Small to Big, From Cargo to Passengers" product portfolio, is engineered for heavy-lift, long-range, and point-to-point high-value missions. Following a transition flight in February 2026, the cargo hybrid-electric variant, the V5000CGH, has entered the airworthiness certification phase, shifting from research and development validation to a standardized airworthiness approval process.

The V5000CGH is characterized by a maximum takeoff weight of 5,700 kg, a payload capacity of 1.5 tons, and a cargo hold of 14 m³ (suitable for two AKE containers). It boasts a cruise speed of 280 km/h and an operational range of 1,500 km. This aircraft aims to expand eVTOL applications into long-haul, heavy-duty logistics, thereby transforming traditional delivery methods into fast and flexible low-altitude transport.

AutoFlight emphasizes a safety-first and regulation-driven approach in its operations. The airworthiness team has extensive experience from previous aviation programs, including ARJ21-700, C919, and Diamond DA42. The V2000CG CarryAll has received full airworthiness certification from the CAAC, while compliance demonstrations are currently ongoing for the V2000EM Prosperity.

Moving forward, AutoFlight plans to adhere to strict airworthiness compliance standards to expedite the testing, flight trials, and certification of the V5000CGH, aiming to bring heavy-payload long-range eVTOLs into commercial use and contribute to the development of sustainable low-altitude logistics infrastructure.
