TrendLife™ Launches Family Circle: Extending Real-Time Scam Protection Across Families
Trend Micro Incorporated has announced the launch of Family Circle, a new feature of its ScamCheck service designed to extend scam protection from individual users to their families and loved ones. This announcement was made by TrendLife™, the consumer business unit of the company, which is recognized for its leadership in consumer digital life protection.
Scammers have increasingly adapted their methods, making scams harder to detect over time. They engage potential victims through messages that initially appear harmless, ultimately aiming to build trust. In a recent study conducted by TrendLife™, nearly half (49%) of over 10,000 surveyed consumers expressed interest in a tool that could alert them if a family member was being targeted by cybercriminals, emphasizing a need for collective awareness in scam prevention.
Family Circle allows a primary subscriber, referred to as the "Circle Owner," to add family members or trusted contacts to their ScamCheck plan. When a scam is detected that targets any member of the circle, the Circle Owner and the targeted individual receive immediate alerts, facilitating coordinated responses to mitigate potential harm.

Family Circle in ScamCheck extends protection beyond an individual, creating a shared layer of awareness earlier so families can act sooner and stay safer together."
In addition to the Family Circle feature, ScamCheck has introduced new capabilities such as Enhanced Scam Radar with Scam Intent AI, which detects manipulative behaviors by scammers. The updated service also includes a Device Security Scan feature that analyzes Android apps for potential malicious activity. Furthermore, ScamCheck now supports German and French languages, expanding its accessibility to a broader audience.
