The PG&E Corporation Foundation to Award $500,000 in Community-Focused Grants for Environmental Stewardship

May 27, 2026

The PG&E Corporation Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Better Together Nature Positive Innovation Grant program, which will allocate $500,000 in grants focused on environmental stewardship initiatives. The application deadline is July 3, 2026.

This year, five regional grants, each worth $100,000, will be awarded to projects aiming to enhance air quality and promote land and water stewardship. Eligible applicants include government organizations, educational institutions, and nonprofit entities, with proposals needing to be located within PG&E's Northern and Central California service area. One grant will be granted in each of PG&E's five regions: North Valley and Sierra, North Coast, Bay Area, South Bay and Central Coast, and Central Valley.

The funding for these grants originates from PG&E shareholders rather than customers, aligning with the company's commitment to support environmental stewardship projects in its service areas. "Climate change is affecting our communities and has a direct impact on us all," said Carla Peterman, President of PG&E Corporation. "By working together in support of innovative and creative solutions, we can better prepare to meet the impacts of climate challenges."

Last year's recipients included the Watsonville Wetlands Watch, which is utilizing the funding for the Pajaro Valley Watershed Stewardship and Climate Adaptation Project. This project focuses on community engagement, youth internships, and workforce development related to wetland restoration and stewardship.

To be eligible, applicants must be a government organization, educational institution, or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
