A recent multi-day event in Hollywood brought together creators from around the world in a content creation competition aimed at educating and entertaining consumers about healthy skincare practices. CeraVe, a global skincare brand developed in collaboration with dermatologists and recommended by over 90,000 dermatologists worldwide, gathered 111 award-winning creators from 22 countries for the inaugural Global CerAwards held in Los Angeles.
The Global CerAwards, which began in Spain in 2023, is an annual CeraVe content creation competition that recognizes outstanding skincare content from creators, dermatologists, and healthcare professionals. Since its inception, the program has expanded globally, with local competitions held in 22 countries this year, resulting in over 5,000 submissions. From these, 111 winners advanced to the premiere global finale, competing before an international jury for the title of the best content creator focused on skincare.
Currently, CeraVe has over 15 million followers worldwide and billions of video views across platforms, attributed to creators, health influencers, and skincare enthusiasts who have helped establish CeraVe as one of the most discussed skincare brands on social media. Participants of the first Global CerAwards collectively represented an audience of over 44 million followers, showcasing the impact of the creator community in disseminating CeraVe's dermatological expertise globally.
CeraVe Studios served as the experiential environment for content creation at the event. Creators had access to specially designed sets and professional actors and stunt performers, challenged to push the boundaries of storytelling about skincare. The thematic stations included activities like a simulated beach race to demonstrate the sand-resiliency of CeraVe sunscreen and obstacle courses to illustrate the sweat-proof capabilities of the brand’s products, integrating educational elements within a narrative framework.
The culmination of the Global CerAwards took place at the iconic Wiltern Theatre, where creators gathered to celebrate talent, creativity, and originality shaping the online skincare culture. Hosted by actress and comedian Meg Stalter, the event featured a jury including actress Bailee Madison and certified dermatologist Dr. Andrew Park. The first Global CerAwards winners were announced, who also joined the Ceramide Squad, a global community of creators collaborating with CeraVe, recognized for their exceptional creativity and content during the event.
