IDnow launches IDnow Trust Platform as Europe enters a new phase of digital identity

June 11, 2026

The IDnow Trust Platform has been launched to assist organizations in managing identity, fraud, and compliance effectively throughout the full customer lifecycle. The platform aims to address the evolving landscape of digital identity rather than simply reflecting its current state.

Europe's digital identity market is undergoing significant changes, influenced by new regulations, the advent of digital identity wallets, and increasingly complex AI-driven fraud methods. IDnow's introduction of the Trust Platform represents an expansion beyond traditional identity verification practices, offering a comprehensive solution for regulated organizations to manage verification, fraud prevention, biometric authentication, and qualified digital trust services.

According to Andreas Bodczek, CEO of IDnow, the identity industry is experiencing its most substantial transformation since the digital onboarding process began. He emphasized that organizations can no longer view identity verification as a one-time event at the beginning of a customer relationship; the focus is shifting toward establishing continuous trust.

The implementation of the AMLR, which will create a unified anti-money laundering framework in the European Union starting in July 2027, and the requirement for businesses to accept EU Digital Identity Wallets by November 2027 are key developments contributing to this transformation. Additionally, the rise of generative AI has made identity-related fraud more sophisticated. Consumers continue to expect rapid, seamless, and secure digital onboarding and authentication processes.

The IDnow Trust Platform advocates a transition from the traditional Know Your Customer (KYC) approach to a more proactive Trust Your Customer (TYC) strategy, utilizing four modular services—Identify, Authenticate, Protect, and Trust—to ensure ongoing trust throughout the customer interaction. This platform simplifies workflow configuration, real-time risk monitoring, and decision automation for organizations, helping them adapt to evolving regulations and fraud patterns without relying heavily on engineering teams.
