On June 18, 2026, the International Automotive and Supply Chain Expo officially opened at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, a global leader in the commercial vehicle segment powered by alternative energy sources, is participating in the event for the second consecutive year. The company is showcasing a full range of products based on a technological strategy that combines methanol-electric systems with fully electric drives. The offerings from Geely Farizon include the methanol-powered REV SV, the methanol-powered REV Homtruck, the methanol-powered light delivery vehicle REV Light Truck, the autonomous taxi Robotaxi, the methanol-powered REV U12M, customized double-decker electric buses specifically designed for Hong Kong, along with mobile energy vehicles Visionol, methanol generators, and methanol-powered marine engines. For the first time in Hong Kong, a customized double-decker bus was presented, tailored to meet local public transport and tourism needs, creating a new symbol of urban mobility. The methanol-electric bus U12M has received an emissions exemption from the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department and is scheduled to commence operations in August. This confirms the compliance of Geely Farizon's methanol-electric vehicles with the stringent environmental standards in Hong Kong and represents a significant step towards the global implementation of methanol technology.
On the opening day of the expo, Geely Holding Group organized an event titled "Green City, Smart City," which inaugurated Geely's green energy and intelligent mobility ecosystem. During the event, Geely Farizon entered into a strategic partnership with CaoCao. The partners plan to introduce 100,000 units of the Farizon Robovan by 2030 to support the development of green and smart cities. Based on the One Geely strategy, the partners will combine their research and development, production, operation, and ecosystem resource capabilities to accelerate the mass production of the Robovan model and establish an AI-supported intelligent logistics network.
As an international metropolis, Hong Kong has previously set a goal to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. However, high population density, limited land area, and scarce energy resources hinder the development of infrastructure such as electric vehicle charging stations.
