Drax Appoints Dr. LeMia Jenkins as VP, Government and Regulatory Affairs - North America

Drax Group has appointed Dr. LeMia Jenkins as Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs for North America.

In her new role, Dr. Jenkins will direct Drax's government and regulatory strategy across the United States and Canada. She is set to oversee engagement with various policymakers and regulators at the federal, state, provincial, and local levels. Dr. Jenkins will support the company’s efforts in policy advocacy, regulatory compliance, and market access, aiming to advance legislative and regulatory frameworks that promote reliable, affordable, and lower-carbon energy solutions in North America.

Dr. Jenkins has over 20 years of experience in governmental, regulatory, and corporate leadership roles. Prior to joining Drax, she served as Chief of Staff at the Mississippi Public Service Commission, where she led policy and regulatory priorities for over 900,000 utility customers. Her background includes senior positions at Pinterest, Walmart, and Caesars Entertainment, as well as early career roles on Capitol Hill and in national political and higher education leadership.

Dr. Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Arts from Tougaloo College, a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Mississippi.
