ChinaAMC and KB Asset Management Sign Strategic MOU to Deepen Cross-Border Collaboration

China Asset Management Co., Ltd. (ChinaAMC) and KB Asset Management Co., Ltd. (KBAM) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Seoul, aimed at enhancing cross-border asset management cooperation between China and South Korea.

The MOU establishes a framework for collaboration, focusing on areas such as product development, market intelligence sharing, and the exchange of investment insights.

Yimei Li, CEO of ChinaAMC, remarked on the partnership, stating, "ChinaAMC has over two decades of deep-rooted expertise in China assets, and KBAM brings equally deep-rooted expertise in South Korea assets. This partnership is a shared conviction that two of Asia's leading asset managers, combining their in-depth understanding of their respective markets, can create greater value for global investors. We look forward to building a long-term and fruitful partnership with KBAM."

Young-sung Kim, CEO of KBAM, noted, "ChinaAMC is one of the most experienced asset managers in China's capital markets, with deep expertise in active investing, ETFs, and cross-border business. This partnership will combine KBAM's distribution strengths in South Korea with ChinaAMC's investment and research capabilities in China, offering South Korean investors better access to Chinese assets while opening new channels for South Korean assets into the Chinese market."

The signing of this MOU arrives amidst increasing financial collaboration between China and South Korea. Both firms view this agreement as a foundation for future cooperation in product innovation, investment research, and market development, contributing to enhanced connectivity of capital markets in the region.

KBAM, a subsidiary of KB Financial Group, manages approximately 191 trillion won (US$124 billion) and ranks among South Korea's top asset managers. Its RISE ETF franchise has achieved over 39 trillion won in assets under management, placing it within the top three in South Korea's ETF market. ChinaAMC, managing around RMB 3 trillion (US$470 billion), is recognized as one of the largest asset managers in China, maintaining its status as the leading equity ETF manager in the country for 21 consecutive years as of the end of 2025.
