Shell to provide $5 million in disaster relief funding for Venezuela
SHELL has expressed its condolences to those impacted by the earthquakes that struck Venezuela this week. The company extended its thoughts to the families and communities affected, including its employees, contractors, and partners in the region, as well as the emergency responders actively working on the scene.
In response to the humanitarian crisis, SHELL has announced a commitment of $5 million in disaster relief funding. This financial support is intended to assist in response and recovery efforts following the devastation.
The funding will be channeled through the World Food Programme (WFP) and selected local humanitarian organizations, focusing on essential areas such as emergency food support and access to critical supplies for vulnerable communities.
Adam Lowmass, President of SHELL Venezuela, commented, "We are deeply saddened by the impact of these earthquakes on the people of Venezuela. Our priority is to help those affected, and we are working with trusted humanitarian partners to deliver urgent relief where it is needed most. We are honored to support the people of Venezuela as communities begin the difficult process of recovery."
