GradGuard Celebrates Second Annual Scholarship Program, Awarding More Than $20,000 to College Students on National Insurance Awareness Day

GradGuard has announced the winners of its second annual scholarship program, which awards up to $3,000 to outstanding students across the United States. The program aims to highlight the importance of financial preparedness in college, building on the success of its inaugural scholarship last year.

This year, nearly 900 applicants submitted entries, with winners chosen based on their ability to convey personal experiences, creative storytelling, and real-world scenarios demonstrating the significance of tuition and renters protection in maintaining academic continuity amidst unexpected challenges.

John Fees, GradGuard’s co-founder, remarked, “Every year, students face disruptions that put their education and their financial investment in it at serious risk. Our scholarship program gives students a platform to share those experiences in their own words, and the response has been incredible.”

The $3,000 scholarship winners include Valeria Garcia from Northwestern University, Naomi De-Gbon and Sajan Shan from the Fashion Institute of Technology, Vincent Okyere Jr. from Franklin and Marshall College, and Luke StAmant from Wake Forest University. Additionally, five students received $1,000 each as Outstanding Submission Award winners, while another five were given $500 each as Spotlight Scholarship recipients.

National Insurance Awareness Day, observed annually on June 28, serves as a reminder for nearly 20 million college students to evaluate their insurance needs. GradGuard works with over 700 colleges and universities to help ensure that students and their families have access to the necessary protections to support their educational journeys.
