Straiker Raises $64M Series A to Secure the Agentic Workforce
Straiker, The Agentic Security Company, has announced a $64 million Series A funding round, raising its total funding to $85 million. The investment round was led by Marathon Management Partners, Citi Ventures, Illuminate Financial, and Workday Ventures, with ongoing support from Bain Capital Ventures and Lightspeed. Gokul Rajaram, founding partner of Marathon, will join the company's Board of Directors.
AI agents are increasingly recognized as the fastest-growing workforce in enterprises, tasked with automating a wide range of operations from productivity tasks to mission-critical workflows. IDC predicts the deployment of over one billion AI agents across enterprises by 2029, marking a 40-fold increase from 2025. Unlike traditional software, these agents operate with dynamic reasoning and autonomy, presenting new security risks that were not originally anticipated.
Straiker's dedicated AI threat research arm, STAR Labs, has conducted adversarial testing revealing that 36% of successful attacks on coding agents could result in remote code execution. Additionally, 91% of attacks on productivity agents have led to data exfiltration without malware or stolen credentials. The growing access of AI agents to sensitive systems underscores the necessity for organizations to understand their behavior and emerging risks.
The founding team of Straiker boasts extensive experience in cybersecurity and AI, including CEO Ankur Shah, who previously led the Prisma Cloud business at Palo Alto Networks, and CTO Sreenath Kurupati, who directed AI and security research at Akamai. Straiker's platform offers integrated capabilities for discovering AI agents, conducting pre-deployment testing, and providing runtime protection.
Since its launch in 2025, Straiker has formed partnerships with both frontier AI labs and Fortune 500 companies, facilitating the secure deployment of AI agents. The company reported a significant commercial growth, with run-rate revenue increasing by over 15 times in less than a year. Ankur Shah noted that this funding will support product development, threat research, and global expansion to meet customer demand.
Gokul Rajaram emphasized the need for enterprises to treat AI agents as "first-class citizens" and highlighted Straiker's potential to provide essential security solutions tailored to the unique challenges posed by these autonomous systems.
