PRFree Review (2026): Pricing, Features, and Who It Fits
Reviewed September 19, 2026. PRFree is a self-service press release publication platform with a free tier and two paid tiers. This review uses PRFree’s public pricing page and terms, linked below; product terms and features can change, so confirm the checkout total and current rules before submitting.
PRFree pricing at a glance
| Plan | Listed price per release | What the public pricing page highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Permanent URL, country and category listings, with search-engine distribution and AI discoverability subject to quality checks. |
| Standard | $29 | Higher listing priority, no ads, a company website link, featured-image display, and news/homepage listing features. |
| Premium | $49 | Higher listing priority plus the features above; PRFree lists video embedding, up to 10 clickable links, and placement on its X account. |
PRFree states that these prices are in U.S. dollars and tax-exclusive. Its public pricing page is the source for this table.
What you are buying
PRFree’s paid tiers are mainly a publication and on-platform visibility upgrade. Its price page lists permanent URLs, country/category placement, priority, media embedding, and certain listing features. That can be useful when the goal is to publish a clean public announcement or test a low-cost option.
It is important not to turn feature labels into promises. PRFree’s terms say the platform is user-generated content, can edit or remove content and links, and does not guarantee indexing, search visibility, traffic, syndication, external distribution, acceptance, or rankings. Read the PRFree terms before treating a publication plan as a media-coverage commitment.
Real cost comparison
For a single release, PRFree’s listed starting costs are $0, $29, or $49 before applicable tax. The right comparison is not merely the lowest number: compare the finished order’s editorial handling, publication controls, distribution scope, reporting, media support, link treatment, and support.
PR Gun’s public distribution plans start at $49 per release; see the current PR Gun pricing page for plan scope and bulk pricing. At the $49 entry point, PRFree Premium and PR Gun Basic are not automatically equivalent products: PRFree’s public page emphasizes listing and publication features, while PR Gun’s plan page describes its own distribution scope. Choose based on the outcome you need, not the label or entry price.
Choose PRFree if…
- You want a free or low-cost public release page and understand that search/indexing outcomes are not guaranteed.
- Permanent publication, category/country listing, or the paid on-platform features are sufficient for the announcement.
- You are testing basic publication before committing budget to a broader distribution plan.
Choose another service if…
- You need a promised placement, external syndication, search result, or media pickup; PRFree’s terms do not promise those outcomes.
- You need a defined distribution scope, editorial workflow, or reporting deliverable in the order itself.
- Your announcement has regulatory, investor-relations, or high-stakes communications requirements that call for a service with an explicitly contracted scope.
Bottom line
PRFree is a credible low-cost publication option when a durable public page and its listed on-platform features meet the objective. The free tier makes it easy to test. The paid tiers can make sense for the listed visibility and media features, but buyers should not infer guaranteed indexing, rankings, syndication, or coverage from the price alone.
