TeamViewer adds natural language scripting to DEX for faster, more accessible IT automation
TeamViewer has launched Tia Scripting, an AI-driven feature within TeamViewer DEX that allows IT teams to create device automation scripts by describing their needs in plain language. This capability eliminates the need for specialized coding knowledge, enabling teams to generate scripts that are ready for review and deployment.
Unlike many IT automation tools that depend on predefined templates or generalized playbooks, Tia Scripting addresses the specific scenarios unique to each organization. This includes configuration challenges, compliance requirements, and recurring failures that do not align with standard tools. Tia Scripting enables teams to articulate their particular issues and receive customized, working scripts tailored to those needs before implementation.
Tia Scripting can be used to handle various situations such as verifying the presence of security certificates, ensuring critical applications are operational, locking down software changes, or triggering automatic remediation in the case of a missing security tool. It can also generate scripts for recurring connectivity issues linked to network configurations and specific compliance checks.
The scripts produced through Tia can be reused across an organization's device estate, allowing successful solutions in one area to be standardized and applied elsewhere. This marks a significant shift in TeamViewer's approach to leveraging AI within DEX, focusing on learning from past experiences to reduce the time IT teams spend addressing repetitive problems.
“Every IT environment is unique, and the issues teams face every day reflect that complexity. A one-size-fits-all approach to automation has never been enough. With Tia Scripting, we're giving IT teams the ability to build automation precisely matched to their organization's specific challenges, without requiring every team member to be a scripting expert. That's how we move IT operations closer to truly autonomous endpoint management,” stated Sebastian Schrötel, Senior Vice President Product Management at TeamViewer.
