Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung Announces Physical AI Vision at San Francisco AI Summit

Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung addressed the company’s roadmap for Physical AI and its collaboration strategy with global technology leaders at the San Francisco AI Summit held on July 25, 2026.

During the summit, which attracted approximately 150 attendees, Chung stated that Hyundai Motor Group is aiming to expand beyond traditional automotive manufacturing to emerge as a Physical AI solution company. He emphasized that the ultimate goal is to achieve integrated intelligence at the city level.

Chung discussed the company’s plans to leverage its manufacturing strengths and robotics capabilities, particularly those developed by Boston Dynamics. He pointed out the establishment of a data flywheel system that connects real-world operational data with continuous advancements in AI models.

The company aims to strengthen its partnerships with leading technology firms such as NVIDIA and Waymo. Additionally, Chung highlighted the collaboration with NVIDIA to develop a Robot Reference Platform that integrates the Physical AI capabilities of both organizations.

Hyundai Motor Group is also committed to investing in domestic hubs, including the Saemangeum AI Valley and advanced industries in Korea's Yeongnam region, with an aim to foster the growth of Korea's robotics and AI ecosystem.
