Nexus Acquires Telemetrix RPM, Extending the Clinical Care Operating System from the Hospital to the Home

Nexus, previously known as Nexus Bedside, has acquired Telemetrix RPM, which will now function as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nexus as of July 23, 2026. This acquisition aims to combine acute inpatient care with remote monitoring and chronic care management, enhancing the care journey for patients while reducing administrative challenges.

The integration of experienced remote nurses and AI-enabled monitoring, along with electronic health record (EHR) workflows, is intended to allow bedside nurses to concentrate on patient care, thereby restoring the enjoyment of nursing while maintaining the essential human aspect of healthcare.

The merger is expected to bolster operational efficiency in hospitals by stabilizing the workforce and increasing patient throughput. Nexus facilitates a connection from the hospital to home by integrating remote patient monitoring into its operating system, which interacts with Epic and other electronic health records.

Akram Boutros, MD, FACHE, the chief executive officer of both Nexus and Telemetrix RPM, emphasized the goal of amplifying personal, compassionate care through technology. The unified model aims to enhance clinical visibility, minimize care gaps, and support patients throughout their entire care journey.

Outcomes from the deployment of Nexus Bedside at the University of Oklahoma (OU) Health were validated in an independent report published in April 2026. The report noted zero falls with injury, a 67% reduction in nursing turnover, a 26% decrease in the length of stay, and elimination of medication errors during the initial six months.

In addition to Nexus Bedside, the operating system includes Nexus Continuum and Nexus Intelligence, which aim to streamline patient transitions from the hospital to home recovery and utilize data to identify risks early in the process. The acquisition marks a significant step in Nexus’s focus on transforming clinical care.
