Vegalab, PL Story and Plcoskin Announce North American Partnership and Biopolymer Research Collaboration

Vegalab S.A., a Swiss biotechnology company, along with PL Story Co., Ltd., which owns the YOULIEF dermocosmetic brand, and Plcoskin Co., Ltd., a Korean regenerative medicine developer, have announced a partnership focused on North American distribution and joint research. The YOULIEF product range is now available in the United States and Canada through Vegalab S.A.

The YOULIEF range includes products such as the CICA line, DIA serums, ECW ampoule, and sun care items, with dedicated websites for North American customers at www.youlief.us and www.youlief.ca. Vegalab is responsible for the registration, bilingual labeling for Canadian products, marketing, and distribution.

Originally part of Plcoskin, the YOULIEF brand was transferred to PL Story as part of a reorganization prior to Plcoskin's public listing. Plcoskin is now focusing on regenerative medicine.

In addition to the distribution agreement, the companies will collaborate on research involving their biopolymer technologies. Vegalab’s platform encapsulates active ingredients within biopolymer shells engineered for specific release triggers, while Plcoskin develops biodegradable polymer and collagen structures aimed at tissue regeneration, including its CES 2024 Innovation Award Honoree, TissueDerm scaffolds.

Chris Jaeyeob Jung, CEO of PL Story, emphasized the brand's roots in Korean skincare and the potential for broader reach through this partnership, while Vegalab CEO David Selakovic noted the complementary nature of their technologies. Dr. Baek Woo Yeol, CEO of Plcoskin, expressed enthusiasm for the innovative potential of their joint efforts.
