inFlow Inventory lance un système de suivi des numéros de lot et des dates de péremption

August 21, 2026

inFlow Inventory has launched a batch number and expiry date tracking system designed for small and medium-sized manufacturers and distributors in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and medical devices sectors. This new feature provides comprehensive lot traceability, covering the stages of purchase, production, sale, and shipping, at a cost significantly lower than that of traditional enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

The implementation of this functionality follows two years of development and a year of testing with food manufacturers, pharmaceutical distributors, and medical device companies. inFlow now offers batch tracking, a feature typically reserved for high-end or enterprise solutions, to small businesses that may have previously been unable to afford it.

Many small food producers currently track batch numbers manually using spreadsheets, logging batches as they arrive and conducting reconciliations during recalls. This labor-intensive process is not only time-consuming but also lacks scalability. The alternative has been the costly implementation of an ERP system, which generally requires several months and tens of thousands of dollars. Consequently, most small manufacturers and distributors continue to rely on their existing spreadsheets or paper systems.

"Traceability should not be a luxury," said Louis Leung, co-founder and CEO of inFlow Inventory. "The companies we designed this product for do not care about sophistication. They just want quick answers to their questions when problems arise. For too long, the only tools that could satisfy their needs were offered to companies a hundred times larger."

The inFlow lot tracking system is targeted at food producers, contract manufacturers, commercial kitchens, pharmaceutical distributors, pharmacies, medical device manufacturers, and businesses in the specialty chemicals sector, sharing common requirements for traceability and exposure to shelf-life issues without ERP budgets or IT departments.

The batch number and expiry date tracking feature is available in all current pricing plans and is included at no additional cost in Mid-Size plans and above. New users can enjoy a free trial of inFlow that includes batch tracking, with setup guides accessible in the inFlow learning center.
