Life Time Expands Ultra Fit Class Across North America as Science-Backed Sprint Training Gains Momentum
Life Time has announced the expansion of its high-intensity Signature Group Training format, Ultra Fit, which was created by Founder, Chairman, and CEO Bahram Akradi. The expansion includes the certification of over 200 new coaches and the introduction of new classes across its more than 195 athletic country clubs.
Ultra Fit is designed to integrate sprint intervals, strength, stability, and balance into a comprehensive workout. Classes involve treadmill-based intervals and strength workouts utilizing equipment such as BOSU balls, bands, and dumbbells. Interval efforts range from three-minute sessions to short 15-second bursts, with recovery periods and heart rate guidance included to ensure proper pacing throughout the workout.
The increase in member participation is notable, with classes filling at higher rates and average sizes expanding over the past two years. Life Time's ongoing commitment to offering scientifically supported fitness formats, as opposed to transient trends, underlines the significance of this expansion.
Nastassia Smith, Vice President of Group Training and Studio at Life Time, stated, "Ultra Fit is one of our most athletically challenging training formats, and we're seeing strong interest from members who are training for a specific goal as well as those focused on long-term health and longevity." She highlighted that the workout's mix of sprint intervals, strength work, and recovery contributes to metabolic health and improves athletic performance.
Members interested in participating in Ultra Fit classes can view schedules and make reservations through the Life Time app. Additional information about the Ultra Fit experience and its underlying philosophy is available in an article by Experience Life.
