HiRO and Differentia Biotech Forge Strategic Alliance to Redefine Clinical Trial Design Through AI-Powered Simulation

A Memorandum of Understanding has been established between Harvest Integrated Research Organization (HiRO), a global clinical research organization, and Differentia Biotech Ltd., a leader in modeling and simulation for drug development. The agreement, formalized at HiRO's office, aims to create a framework for collaborative development of clinical trial simulation capabilities.

The partnership seeks to combine HiRO's expertise in global clinical operations and real-world data with Differentia's advanced digital twin technology. This collaboration addresses key challenges faced by biotech companies, particularly in drug development, where costs can surpass $2.6 billion and timelines are increasingly compressed.

Under the MOU, the organizations will work together in two main areas: developing clinical trial simulation models and creating new product offerings based on these capabilities. The goal is to support smarter trial design and more efficient patient selection, potentially reducing the number of subjects required in trials and enhancing decision-making for sponsors earlier in the development process.

HiRO's CEO and Founder, Karen Chu, emphasized that the collaboration aims to provide drug developers with not only faster trials but also smarter ones. Differentia's modeling and simulation expertise, combined with HiRO's operational discipline, is intended to help biotech clients make more informed decisions.

Shirley Wen, Founder of Differentia, recognized the increasing significance of clinical development amid declining biopharma R&D productivity. Kas Subramanian, CEO and Co-Founder of Differentia, added that the integration of AI and biosimulations with HiRO's research expertise could transform the drug development paradigm, allowing companies to de-risk their assets virtually.

Both companies plan to release further information regarding specific collaborative initiatives as their partnership evolves.
