XCMG představilo první prstencový jeřáb na světě s nosností 14 000 tun

XCMG has announced the rollout of the first main unit of the world’s first 14,000-ton ring crane, marking a significant advancement in the technology for lifting extremely heavy loads. Developed in collaboration with Sinopec Heavy Lifting & Transportation Co., Ltd., this crane will be the highest-capacity ring crane ever produced, setting a new standard for large-scale construction projects globally.

The crane features a modular configuration with two main units operating in tandem. The first main unit has completed final assembly and is capable of performing lifting operations independently. Once both units are finished and connected, the crane will achieve a maximum load capacity of 14,000 tons and a maximum lifting moment of 700,000 ton-meters, with expectations to rank among the best in several key performance metrics.

"This crane represents more than just a marginal improvement; it signifies a revolutionary leap for the global heavy-lifting industry," said Yang Dongsheng, Chairman of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery. "Our partnership with Sinopec has created a new integrated model that includes research and development, manufacturing, and practical application, establishing a new benchmark in the industry for self-innovation and engineering application of large technical equipment."

The ring crane is also equipped with an innovative direct electric drive system that converts electrical energy directly into motion. This feature results in over 30% energy savings, a 20% increase in operational efficiency, and reductions in fuel costs and carbon emissions. As nuclear projects grow worldwide and increasingly utilize modular construction, the demand for equipment capable of lifting extraordinarily heavy loads is rising.

The 14,000-ton ring crane marks a significant step in the increasing adoption of advanced lifting equipment developed in China for the construction of nuclear power plants globally. It can be utilized in projects related to conventional energy, nuclear energy, and wind energy. In conventional energy projects, it can lift a variety of large towers and vessels as complete units, replacing piecemeal lifting and reducing risks during assembly, pressure tests, and other installation tasks. In nuclear power plant construction, it offers a unique capability: from a single crane position and using only one boom configuration, it can handle plant modules and main equipment for two nuclear islands. Its lifting height and capacity also facilitate the installation of larger capacity turbines in offshore wind farms.

Yang added, "XCMG will continue to develop its own ultralarge engineering machinery, delivering proven and reliable solutions for a wider range of engineering applications, and providing customers worldwide with safer, more efficient, and energy-saving construction solutions."
