UniFirst Launches Always U™ Workwear Collection Designed for the Active Workforce
UniFirst Corporation has introduced Always U™, a new workwear collection engineered to address gaps in the uniform market. The collection aims to provide comfort, mobility, and modern design specifically for active teams, while maintaining a professional appearance and affordability necessary for businesses.
The Always U collection features poly/cotton fabrics with mechanical stretch, offering 10% to 12% more stretch than standard uniforms. Additionally, it includes internal elastic waistbands, integrated crotch gussets, and articulated knees designed to enhance comfort and mobility throughout the workday. The modern design combines functionality with a contemporary look suited for today's workforce.
In a notable shift, this collection includes a dedicated women's line, which is tailored to fit a woman's natural profile and movement. Women's work shirts feature waist shaping and hem lengths specifically designed to reflect their needs, while the pants and shorts offer a contoured mid-rise fit and practical storage options.
Leigh-Anne Zavalick, Product Manager at UniFirst, acknowledged the historical oversight in the design of workwear for women, stating that traditional uniforms have not always catered to their specific needs. Heather Trumbell, Director of Sourcing, emphasized the commitment to designing uniforms that reflect the realities of today's workforce.
The Always U™ collection is set to begin shipping on September 5, 2026, and will be available through UniFirst's rental programs, which include laundering, garment inspection, and maintenance services. For further details, the collection can be explored on UniFirst's website.
