OHUB and CompTIA to address growing demand for AI-ready workers

September 10, 2026

Opportunity Hub (OHUB) and CompTIA are set to host a webinar titled "Building America's AI-Ready Workforce" at noon ET on September 16, 2026. The event aims to address how workers, educators, and employers can develop the practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills necessary for success in an evolving job market.

As demand for AI-ready talent rises, recent CompTIA workforce research has reported over 320,000 job postings in August looking for candidates with AI proficiency, reflecting a 4.5% increase from July. A CompTIA survey from 2026 indicated that 87% of job seekers consider digital skills important for their careers, with AI fundamentals being a top learning priority.

Kieran Blanks, chief product officer and AI expert-in-residence at OHUB, and Dr. James Stanger, chief technology evangelist at CompTIA, will lead discussions on how individuals can merge their professional expertise with AI tools to enhance their workplace capabilities. "Workers need practical skills and confidence to use these tools effectively and responsibly," Blanks stated. Stanger added, "Developing AI-ready workers requires a combination of technical fluency, critical thinking, and subject-matter expertise. These are skills that can be learned and applied across virtually every profession."

The upcoming webinar is part of a broader initiative by OHUB and CompTIA, which aims to provide practical AI training to one million Americans by 2030, focusing on high-growth business development and early-stage investment.

Participants in the webinar will learn about essential AI and digital skills, effective prompting techniques for improved productivity, leveraging AI tools for enhancing expertise, assessing AI literacy, and strategies for maintaining critical-thinking abilities in an AI-dominated landscape. Registration is available for those interested in gaining insights into building an AI-ready workforce.
